Their are many Koi Varieties, once the koi variety has been chosen you must select the right male and female koi. It is common for the koi to be between 4-5 years old. They then have to be kept healthy for about a year, during this period they will be groomed for breeding.

During the winter where the koi hibernate Feeding Koi should be very minimal. After this the chosen koi should be moved to a ‘spawn’ tank or pond and it is common for two male koi to be placed with a female koi.

You have to ensure that the environment is just right with privacy, the right water quality, a place for the eggs to be laid, and temperature being satisfactory.
